Eldridge Hotel
The Eldridge Hotel is the only business in Lawrence, Kansas that has been doing business since before Kansas was admitted to the Union.  The building itself has been destroyed and rebuilt (with many associated deaths)  several times in the last hundred and fifty years or so, with the five story building today built in 1926 and reopened in its present form in 1986.  

The Eldridge appears to be a genuine unexplained haunting, with generation after generation of housekeeping and maintenance staffs reporting unexplained phenomena, including doors and elevator doors opening by themselves, lights behaving erratically, cold spots, footsteps and noises, and photographs with unexpected, orbs, mists, and odd streaks.   Room 506 is reported to be the center of the phenomena, and the vicinity of this room is believed by some to be a portal site thorough which entities or spirits pass.   However, we are holding judgment on that until we get more information as data for this site is rather scarce, and eyewitnesses are not coming forward in droves at this point in time.

Whether or not it is a portal, this is a must-see for anyone interested in checking out a bona-fide haunted hotel.  Bring good equipment, and try to get a room on the 5th floor if possible.
